Game Development - Elective Course

Gamedevelopment in Unity.

The goal for this elective course is to publish a mobile game in the 'Google Play' store for android devices. Unity offers cross platform development and you will easily be able to port your game to the iphone/ipad. links to previos games made by our students



Requirements for the mandatory assignment

In order to pass our electives courses you need to hand in an assignment. In this class you need to upload a game in Google Play Store.

You can use the Zealand Academy's account or choose to use your own. https://developer.android.com/distribute/console

Your game must be online April 9th 9:00 - remember that it takes some time before your game is released. I advice you to upload your game the day before!

Course Plan Spring 2019

February 5th: Introduction to the course

February 12th: Platform games, sounds and animations and game architecture

February 19th: Level Design

February 26th: Scrolling Shooter (In collaboration with class)

Marts 5th: Build your own games

Marts 12th: Pathfinding - and other AI tricks

Marts 19th: Path finding / AI

Marts 26th: Introduction to 3D environments

April 2nd: Present your games

send a link to your game in 'google play' A group of students will test your game and give feedback

April 9th: Hand-in of your final game.

We do some final polishing: fix tine errors, create screenshots and texts for google play and so on.

Specialization period

Your specialization starts after the easter holidays. If you choose to specialize in game development expect a metting with me on the following dates
